Frameplate (M4 and M5), is a frame mounted hanging system.
The system is a reduction of the popular Temart FHS system and
offers the same high quality in material and production. Like all
Temart systems, the Frameplate is compatible with different hanging
situations in an exhibition or gallery. Many of the accessories
for FHS is usable for Frameplate as well.
The unique properties are:
The Frameplate system makes handling more efficient and secures the object through a mechanical system. Reusability, as well as quick and secure mounting, makes the Frameplate a good investment.
Frameplate aims at collections aware of also protecting the frame of the art piece, and reducing the number of different frame-mounted hanging systems used in the collection. In collections where artworks alternately hang in the exhibition, art depository or out on loan is the frame always at risk. The Frameplates also ensures easy installing and handling in storage.
Frameplate consists of a base plate with metric thread (M4 or M5). The base is screwed onto the artwork frame. Screw loops or depot hooks can be alternated into the base plate. The standard thread allows the user also to mount other solutions. The hole pattern base plate enables a flexible placing of screws. Frameplate is attached with two screws included in the basic package.
The eye loop is welded so it cannot be bent open. The storage hook has a profile which enables turning it without touching the stretcher mounted in the frame.
The bottom plate is manufactured in steel with rounded corners and slated edges. Eye loop is welded and like the storage hook produced in industrial steel and galvanized (M5) or gold chromed (M4).
Model | Thread | Long Side | Short Side | Thickness |
---|---|---|---|---|
Frameplate M4 | M4 | 30 | 11 | 3 |
Frameplate M5 | M5 | 40 | 17 | 4 |
The marking pin is an accessory to simplify the placing of wall hooks. The marking pin is screwed into the adjustable nut; the artwork is then lifted into position. With light pressure, the place for the wall hook is marked without wasting time measuring distances between hooks.
The Frameplate is sold in Set containing two complete Frameplate units (M4 or M5), storage hook and 4 screws for frame mounting. The included screws are compatible with the Pozidriv standard (PZ).
The Frameplate can be used to exhibit art in various ways and is useful on narrow as well on broad and heavy frames. In most cases, museums choose to present paintings to hang mostly parallel with the walls. In such an exhibition, the Frameplate is mounted on the artwork frame's upper part.
In older galleries, with the reconstruction of historical settings, the Frameplate is placed somewhat lower so that the painting can lean forward. If the wall hooks are replaced by a wire, the effect is still further enhanced. Large, modern pictures without, or with very narrow frames, are most suitably hung in a Frameplate mounted as high as possible.
No matter which mounting used, the mounting must always take place in healthy, undamaged wood and never directly into the frame's corner fittings. Use Temart tested quality screws and used the correct screw length for the frame profile.
